Reporting to the CEO and the Board, the selected candidate will have three fundamental areas of management:
External : Develop an excellent relationship with the DOH and MOH as well as other hospitals in the region. He will ensure compliance to all regulatory processes and governmental dictates. Create a PR program that will promote the facility as well as the services rendered by various specialists within the hospital. In addition, he will represent the hospital at medical conferences and seminars and be a spokesperson on behalf of the hospital as well as be a member of a number of medical committees within the region.
Internal : Develop operating goals and objectives for medical affairs, assist in the development of annual budgets, capex and miscellaneous expenditure. Ensure profitability through the initiation of new and profitable medical services. Be solely responsible for the selection and the retention of physicians and surgeons, appraise their performance on particular parameters and influence a program of excellent patient relationships.. Improve patient / customer relationships through the development of a typical CSR program. Develop CS tools and feedback mechanisms that promote excellent service. Manage patient complaints, conduct all kinds of trouble shootings exercises. Provide a strong administrative machinery that lends support to the smooth running of the facility. Ensure excellent facilities management and maintenance through a team of engineers.
Learning & Development : Ensure that physicians keep abreast of modern developments in medicine, promote constant retraining through associations with medical schools and teaching hospitals, invite members of the medical fraternity to train or retrain staff in modern medical technology. Be involved in self development in order to set a trend of knowledge gathering.
The person we seek must be a senior physician of repute having practiced medicine and been involved in hospital administration in his recent past. His education must include western education and training in hospital administration. His present designation should be Medical Director or CMO of a large medical facility. Knowledge of the Middle East would be ideal , but having worked in a multicultural work environment would be considered an important requisite.
