Job Description

Our client, a regionally prominent bank is looking for a Head of Strategic Growth for their Wholesale Banking sector to bring in new ideas that could lead to new business directions for the organization. "The incumbent has to create the internal processes for the new business opportunities, communicate the vision and liaison with internal and external stakeholders. He or she must be an expert in combining strategic thinking and analytical problem solving with a passion for implementing recommendations and delivering results."

 

Here's a portrait of what our ideal candidate would look like -

  • He or she should espouse a firm understanding & clear interpretation of the macro-economic and industry trends, specifically in the GCC region, to identify potential business/ growth opportunities.
  • She should be able to Evaluate acquisition opportunities, performing a broad range of quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Create a deal pipeline and evaluate M&A opportunities and build relations with Investment Banks/Advisors.
  • Structure complex negotiations with external and internal parties, including the review and drafting of highly legalistic deal documentation.
  • Recommend and justify preferred strategic options to the Executive Management and other stakeholders.
  • Effectively engage the Senior Management to align and contribute to the Strategic Planning and execution process.
  • Support the deal execution process from due diligence all the way through post-merger integration.
  • Liaise closely with regulators and communicating strategy.
  • Interaction across different areas within the Bank, including but not limited to business units, Finance, Legal, IT, Operations, HR etc.

Candidate Profile

  • 15+ years of strategy and business management experience in a leadership role, preferably in a financial services company
  • Educational Qualification: MBA / CA / CPA/ CFA
  • Demonstrable experience in Banking/Financial sector, M&A
  • Demonstrated “big picture” strategic thinking
  • Excellent analytical, financial and project management skills
  • Strong communication and change management skills
