Job Description

Responsibilties will include but not limited to the following 


Underwrite across all non motor and non life classes of business including but not limited to the following: Energy, Engineering, Fire & Property, Business Interruption, Machinery Breakdown, Marine Hull & Cargo, Liability, General Accident, Workmen’s Compensation, Money and Fidelity. This will be done as per the terms of the Group Reinsurance Treaties and within authority limits. The role holder will be expected to be involved in survey work and the preparation of claims files.


You will be active on the market to secure new business for the company from both direct and indirect channels. Operationally you will be involved in the Policy, cover note and documentation preparation and will provide product and systems training to brokers, agents or staff when required.


To aid marketing efforts, you will be expected to carry out market research in order to keep abreast of competition and to identify opportunities for new insurance products and services.





Candidate Profile

To qualify for the role you will be a graduate with 5 or more years in insurance ideally with insurance qualification from the CII. Experience in handling all classes of general/corporate insurance from both an underwriting and claims perspective will be beneficial. Strong sales and marketing background coupled with Tender preparation experience will be critical for success in this role. Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage. On the personal attributes, you will be a ‘peoples’ person with first class communication skills and powers of persuasion adopting a coherent and rationale approach to the direction of the business model. Be self motivated and proactive to steer the department to the next level in terms of visibility, insurance sales, product development, delivery, channel implementation and increased market share.
