Job Description

 

The required persons must have good and all round knowledge and experience of contractual, measurement and commercial matters, including but not limited to, the following:

 

 

Excellent detailed and working knowledge of FIDIC and EPC type contracts, experienced in advising accordingly the Management, to comply with notification requirements in accordance to the contract documentation, particularly in respect of claims, delay situations, extra works etc. and to draft the majority of the contractual correspondence sent from the site

 

Excellent detailed and working knowledge of POMI (Principles of measurement International), and other standardized methods of measurement.

 

Submission, negotiation and agreement of interim valuations as well as the final measurements and speedy conclusion of the Final Account.

 

Measurement, pricing, submission, negotiation and agreement of Variation / Change Orders.

 

Submission, negotiation and agreement of new (“star”) rates.

 

Preparation and obtaining approval / agreement of daily records for dayworks and “detailed particulars” for claims, abortive work, standing time, mobilisation, demobilisation claims etc.

 

Preparation of Subcontract Agreements for nominated, domestic and labour only subcontractors and certification of their payments and finalisation of their accounts, including couner charges.

 

Escalation of price, including the effect of amended legislation.

 

Contractual insurance, including Contractor’s All Risks, Third Party and Decennial Liability cover.

 

Preparation of internal costing reports and records for Management use.

 

Candidate Profile

An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors, chartered member of the RICS and with a BSc in Quantity Surveying, is required to supervise and work with a large sized team of skilled and knowledgeable multiracial assistants on one of our projects within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidates should have at least twelve years’ experience on major building and / or civil engineering projects, preferably with overseas experience in the Middle East. The company is looking for persons with a “team player” mentality, that have aspirations for long term and rewarding employment both from a career and financial viewpoint. Working experience in the Middle East or Gulf region is essential. Candidates who are currently working in Saudi Arabia and have a NOC or Transferable Visa are welcome to apply.
