Job Description

PRINCIPAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Assist CEO for overall growth of MEP business in the UAE and select territories. You will play a key role in the development and implementation of company’s business development plan and providing input into strategic business growth and improvement decisions.

 

Assist the CEO for Administration in formulating implementation plans, including preparation

of budgets, work plans, procurement plans and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plans.

Present five year, three year and annual Business Plans for approval by CEO and Directors.

Take responsibility for the Business Plans’ implementation and report on the MEP SBU

performance each quarter with planned vs. actual matrices.

Prepare and present to the Board, annual Operations and Capital Expense Budget

and take ownership of the budget upon its approval, reporting quarterly on planned against

actual expenditure.

Prepare business development plan in line with the strategic objectives of the

Company and present it to the Board. Management and implementation of the approved business development plan.

Strengthens relationships with the existing clients for repeat orders and improved service to the client. Grows long-term business relationship with clients and capitalizes on partnership

opportunities.

Develops project leads in line with business plan and services offered by the company.

Identifies new clients and follow Key Account Management System for increased order

bookings, improved customer relations and satisfaction.

In conjunction with CFO, present quarterly Profit & Loss accounts for the Company

with commentary and proposed actions you plan to implement to manage the budget in

line with forecast.

Work in tandem with CFO for quarterly cash flow statements as well as working capital requirements (yearly in advance).

Prepare and present Business Development and Marketing Plans and Strategy in order to

achieve the company’s objectives of business turnover, profit and regional presence in

accordance with approved annual and long term Strategic Plan.

 Identify, recommend managers for and upon approval appoint to key positions within the

organisation.

 Develop and implement operational policies and strategy to manage the company within the

limits prescribed by the Management.

 Develop and present plans for management development, efficiency, good corporate

governance and process improvements through better workflow, systems and procedures.

 Coordinate and manage the preparation of periodic implementation reports.

 

OPERATIONAL AND PROJECT DELIVERABLES:

 

Provide leadership, coordination and day-to-day management to the project implementation

functions and ensure that the operations of the company are in full compliance with local

regulations and with the company’s policies and procedures.

 

 Assist the CEO in ensuring continuous improvement of operational efficiency and profits.

Identifies partnership opportunities with potential clients or project specific partners and

capitalizes on "add-on" sales opportunities across MEP Project Sector.

Achieves or exceeds order booking targets for carefully chosen projects with potentially

healthy margins.

Guide and closely work with the Estimation Team to ensure that sales opportunities are

maximised through improved understanding of market trends and pricing levels.

Closely liaise with Estimation Team for preparation and timely submission of tenders and

provide accurate feedback on the submitted tenders.

Work closely with the Operation Managers, Project Heads to ensure planned / targeted

progress on the execution of projects including exchange of relevant information, and to

periodically identify issues and risks, assess impacts and develop mitigation strategies.

Work closely with the Head - HR & Administration to facilitate the timely exchange of

information and ensure that project implementation proceeds in full adherence with local

regulations and with MCC requirements and standards.

Provide a first line of communication with the Clients (Owners, Project Managers, Main

Contractors, and Consultants etc.) to ensure dissemination of critical information,

commitments of resources and the timely completion of tasks related companies business/

projects.

 Make recommendations regarding staff retention and related issues.

 Adopt and implement the Company’s QAQC and HSE policies.

 

 

Candidate Profile

Qualification: Graduate Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from top tier Unviersity from India. A Post Graduate or Management Qualification is highly desirable. Engineering. A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with HVAC biased experience is preferred. At least twenty (20) years overall experience in Building Services Sector (MEP) with minimum five (5) years relevant experience as Deputy CEO or GM or in a senior management role handling operations of a company having mix of small to large-size MEP projects involving simple to complex engineering projects with multi-disciplinary services. Minimum 15 -17 years’ hands-on experience in Business Develop, Strategic marketing, procurement, tendering & estimation, negotiation of MEP business mainly in the UAE. Up-to-date knowledge of products, manufacturers, vendors and prevailing market prices and pricing levels pertaining to MEP Services. Hands-On experience in strategizing, gathering of market & competitor’s intelligence, preparation and compilation of MEP Tenders. Also ability to conclusively negotiate and secure MEP tenders efficiently and profitably. Ability to effectively communicate in Arabic & English. Valid UAE driving licence. CORE COMPETENCIES & SKILLS: Results driven. Capacity for building and maintaining productive relationships with a wide range of Clients, including government officials. Business plan and report writing skills. Clear strategic mind-set with analytical focus. Proven track record and first level business contacts with companies potential clients. Rapport and relationship building at commercial level. Effective presentation and negotiate skills at all levels. Project marketing and management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literacy and proficiency including email, word processing, spreadsheets, Primavera, Profession Project Management software, and familiarity with Management Information Systems (MIS). Also proficiency in use of internet; social media; on-line business magazines for identification of new projects, new clients. Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for effective and effortless communication with all concerned. Ability to travel intrastate, interstate and internationally.
