Job Description

 

To deliver and manage all commercial and operational aspects through effective people management and achieve sales and profit growth in line with the business plan. He would be responsible for the entire operations of the store. Work with stores on controllable costs and review profit and loss of each store and see GP margin, GP percentage etc is achieved as per business plan. Conduct merchandise probes in consultation with managers to optimize department wise /category wise sales. Establish the buying strategy, range planning and assortment plan for the Retail. Prepare annual business plans and buy budgets in conjunction of review and analyses by the category/operations team. Maintain and grows the department /category and its stores share and sales. He would be responsible for financial and operational control in stores. Conduct probes for - attrition, productivity, staffing, shrinkage, rent to sales in stores ratio etc and develop action plan to mitigate the risk. Maintain stock accuracy and control stock loss in the stores by analyzing reports (ageing, stock take reports etc) and developing action plans. He would be responsible for budgeting for all Direct Purchase expenditure.  His responsibility would also include budgeting the sales and GP for the ensuing financial year, looking at the bottom line growth, identifying new business (store) opportunities with regards to expansion. Evaluate stores and be held accountable for the profitability Vs the projected numbers presented to the management during approval process. Coach and motivate teams and performance manage teams to deliver results.

 

Candidate Profile

The suitable candidate should have minimum 15 years experience in supermarkets or hypermarkets of which atleast 5 years in a senior management role. He should have managed large teams, many supermarkets and should be from a food retail background. Indian candidates would be preferred.
