A large and diversified business group in the GCC has invested for a JV project in Tanzania which will focus on Livestock breeding and meat production. 

Job Description

The farm will produce the following products:   Frozen and chilled goats and sheep carcass. Frozen beef quarter carcass and Value added special cuts of goat and beef such tenderloin, striploin, cube roll, knuckle, etc. The farm and the abattoir would operate in strict compliance to HALAL food requirements and will adhere to international and local quality norms including HACCP.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following Duties and Tasks - Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of ranch and abattoir. Hire, train, or supervise farm workers or contract for services to carry out the day-to-day activities of the managed operation. Engage in or supervise planting, cultivating, harvesting, financial, and marketing activities. Direct the breeding or raising of stock, such as cattle, goats etc using recognized breeding practices to ensure stock improvement. Evaluate marketing or sales alternatives for farm or ranch products.Inspect farm or ranch structures, such as buildings, fences, or roads, ordering repair or maintenance activities, as needed. Monitor activities such as irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, milking, breeding, or grading to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards. Monitor pasture or grazing land use to ensure that livestock are properly fed or that conservation methods, such as rotational grazing, are used. Negotiate with buyers for the sale, storage, or shipment of crops or livestock. Obtain financing necessary for purchases of machinery, land, supplies, or livestock. Maintain financial, operational, production, or employment records.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should ideally be currently resident in Eastern or Southern Africa with education qualifications in Farming/ agriculture and with 5  -7 years managing a livestock farm open to relocation to Tanzania.. Email
